Having taken a three week break in the south of France in November just before restrictions tightened again last year, Sue and I had a quiet Christmas but braved all weathers with our coast and South Downs walks. There was so much activity on the beaches and over Christmas everyone seemed determined to greet perfect strangers. The highlight was of course the growing trend of many small groups taking to the icy waters. But then I thought, all those coastal bather’s up and down the country were also seeking that great release from the past two year’s restrictions and washing away all that gloom, in the most defiant manner imaginable ! Returning to the warmth of my attic studio, I hastily captured the moment on canvas with liberal use of acrylics and flashing palette knife.
My most recent writing has not been as prolific as I would like, with small additions to my fifth book OVDA, a travel and work memoir in the holy lands Israel and Palestine – which I have rigidly promised myself, that it must be finished this year. In the meantime, my research and writing has concentrated on family history and who knows, it might all end with a further book.
A good positive start to the New Year has seen Amazon introduce hardback printing on its Kindle Direct Publishing platform. My last book ‘Pablo and Jackson – On Tour’ was crying out for a hardback format, so I am very pleased to say that this has now been set up and this 3rd edition has gone live and ready for orders !
